Degree In Outdoor Industry

Ever wondered how you can get into the industry of making performance jackets, shoes, and packs? You might want to consider studying in France for a while.

IUT Annecy has combined the Performance Sports Textile and Footwear program with the International Sales Specialists in Sports program to make a new Bachelor’s degree that would be a great benefit if you want to go into the outdoor industry. The program will take seven months to complete with a three month internship with a brand in the outdoor industry.

Not only would you be studying some cool skills, but you would be living in an exceptional natural environment with mountains and lakes to ski, hike, and other outdoor shenanigans. The region is one of international recognition as a key hub for the industry in Europe.

In other words, you’ve got to want to make it in this business and have some skills to show that you mean it. The good thing is that you don’t need any prior knowledge or studies in technical textiles. You do need 2 years of university level studies, be fluent in English, and have an interest in outdoor sports and sports industry in general.

The programs are supported by such brands as Adidas, Dynastar, Petzl, Volcom, and many others.
